Her youngest child, Rilla, is the main character of this book and it begins with the beautiful 15-year-old Rilla excited about her first dance at the shore. However, if they have they will know that Anne is married to a childhood friend Gilbert Blythe and is the mother of six children. Most people have read no further than Anne of Green Gables which is the first book in the series. Rilla of Ingleside is the second last book in the Anne of Green Gables series and possibly the most heart-wrenching. ![]()
